FAQ's - Your Questions, Answered

Everything you need to know before your first appointment

What can I expect at my first physiotherapy appointment?

Your first session will include a thorough assessment, discussion of your symptoms and medical history, and a tailored treatment plan. We’ll also talk through your goals and answer any questions.

Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

No referral is needed to see a physiotherapist. However, if you’re claiming through Workers Compensation, DVA, or CTP (motor accident), a referral may be required.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that allow easy movement. If we’re assessing a specific area (e.g. knee or shoulder), access to that area is helpful.

Can I use my private health insurance?

Yes! If your cover includes physiotherapy, you can claim on the spot with our HICAPS terminal—just bring your health fund card.

How long does each session go for?

Initial consultations are generally 45–60 minutes. Follow-up appointments are usually 30 minutes, depending on your treatment plan.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We understand that life happens! Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or change your appointment to avoid a cancellation fee.

Do you offer any hands-on treatments like massage or dry needling?

Yes, we offer a range of manual therapies including soft tissue techniques, joint mobilisation, dry needling, and more, based on what’s appropriate for your condition.

Do you treat sports injuries and chronic pain?

Absolutely. We work with all types of injuries—from weekend sprains to long-term pain and post-surgical rehab. Every treatment is customised to your needs.
